Rod Stewart was fabulous!
I was thrilled to see Rod Stewart perform after a long time. Let me say, it had been a fairly small venue and 15 rows from stage left. I was also thrilled that he performed all of his best rock and roll songs (I am not in love with this songbook business--he's a rocker for god's sake!). He did perform one of the American songbook tunes by Frank Sinatra. And, he also invited his children to dance with him on stage at one point. They were pretty cute.
The light show graphics were very good and the high def camera trained on Rod and projected on a huge screen was pretty cool too.
He came back for one encore, invited a hole bunch of people on stage who circled around him. Once they left the stage, Jersey Boys had exited. Only one low note: The curtain went down and we got no final farewell. It was a very odd way to end the concert.
